Tweenbots is a little (adorable) robot experiment that Kacie Kinzer did in NYC.
"In New York City, we are very occupied with getting from one place to another. I wondered: could a human-like object traverse sidewalks and streets along with us, and in so doing, create a narrative about our relationship to space and our willingness to interact with what we find in it? More importantly, how could our actions be seen within a larger context of human connection that emerges from the complexity of the city itself? To answer these questions, I built robots ... Oh man the CUTENESS
They are the cuteriest! Which I think hugely influences why people are willing to help them out. We are innately programmed to respond to human infant cuteness - large foreheads, eyes and pupils, smaller features below eye level and smaller limbs - so that we respond and care for our babies. I think some of this carries over into inanimate objects like these adorable little Tweenbots.
