When Modern Design Makes You Work
One of the more entertaining emails I've received in a while:
"I kid you not, I can't figure out how to flush this minimal modern toilet. I feel like a papua-new guinean who's never seen modern technology. There's no flusher handle thingy or anything. Maybe I just do a dance in front of it and it rewards me by flushing away my pee. modern design gone wrong."

I need perspective! Stand next to it, open the toilet, something to make that thing look less like a trash can, pedestal, coffee cup, q-tip holder. I'm not convinced he's right about this one...

Welcome to New York!
I am in New York August 6-13 for the All Points West Music Festival to see Radiohead. Very excited to have friends, family, and an amazing camera here with me. (One person is definitely missing though... )
Here's a half decent iPhone picture of the sky when I landed. All other NYC photos will be posted upon returning to LA.

Life is happening and here's a piece of it.
World Dive Bar Tour was at Big Dean's this week. And here are some photos to prove it.

BMW GINA
Autoblog.com says: The BMW GINA Light Visionary Model that was seen via video being installed in the BMW Museum in Munich last week has finally been revealed, and the futuristic design study shows how BMW designers are thinking outside of the box when it comes to the materials that make up a car and also how the car relates to the driver. GINA stands for "Geometry and Functions in 'N' Adaptations", which basically means that designers from both BMW and BMW Group DesignworksUSA were allowed to throw out the rulebook. This is most evident in the GINA Light Visionary Model's outer skin, which is made entirely out of textile fabric that's pulled taut around a frame of metal and carbon fiber wires...
